Using Chat GPT4 for Market Analysis

When you look at all of the available data and expert opinion that is out there - it's often hard to know where to start. 

Here's my ‘hack’ to consume large amounts of data and save time on both analysis and comparison.

My Objective: As CEO of a software company focused on the Private Capital sector (Private Equity, CRE, Venture capital etc..) I need to keep abreast of the challenges faced by our clients.  As our clients cover Tech, Energy, CRE, Healthcare and more It's a challenge.  So I use AI to help consume, summarize, compare and contrast data and then provide a consensus view on the themes that are important for me to understand.

Below - I break down my approach in the hope that it's helpful to you.  Note: This is also a great summary of the key themes in the CRE sector for 2024!  

Note: The original reports are 20+ pages each.  I referenced 100+ Pages across the 5 reports - each attributed below)



A note before we start:  I use Chat GPT 4 Plus (Paid subscription of $20 per month at time of publication)

Steps:

- Open up Chat GPT

- Make sure you choose Chat GPT 4 on the top left of screen

- Add whatever files you wish to add using the ‘paperclip icon in the chat window

Note: I tend to write multi-stage prompts beginning quite broadly, then seeking specifics, then seeking summary / consensus / comparison to fully understand the themes.
